Suleymaniye Mosque, Istanbul

Suleymaniye Mosque, Istanbul

It was a laid back kind of place with visitors sitting on the floor and admiring the domes and arches. A whisper or two of conversation. I sat down for a while – felt the peace of the place and enjoyed the architecture.

A stark contrast with the the Blue Mosque, which was rammed with tours – the guides holding up flags or umbrellas inside the mosque. I didn’t stay there long.

  1. I can feel the stillness in your picture.
I expect you’d walk back into the contrasting mega-bustle of Istanbul.
