Beer and Toblerone

It’s odd.

We’ve been together 14 years now and last month we celebrated our first wedding anniversary. We had cards (thanks little bruv and in-laws) but not from each other. I specifically told Ron not to get me a present as we’d already exchanged gifts (I got a Kindle and he got a photography book) a few days before.

We spent the day pottering around the house – tidying up the garden and moving furniture in preparation for the following week that we were to spend making some home improvements (our new white walls have replaced the squatter vibe of layers of old paint and bare plaster).

And though we cracked open a bottle of champagne later, over our favourite dinner, I couldn’t resist capturing this moment.

An anniversary candle, a bar of Toblerone and a pint of Jaipur.

What more could a married woman ask for?

I was so happy that I even let Ron take control of Vlad.
